Mike Murdock is an American contemporary singer, songwriter, pastor, and author. He was born on 18 April 1946 to J. E. Murdock and Willie Murdock in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He is the only brother of his four sisters. His real name is Michael Dean Murdock which he changed to Mike Murdock later.
He studied at the LaGrange School and later attended the Southern Assemblies of God University. He left his studies in the year 1966. He has a record of registering almost 76 songs with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. For spending his wisdom and knowledge independently Mike established an association and named it Mike Murdock Evangelistic Association.
The main aim with which Mike established this association is to spread his preaching knowledge. He also arranges fundraisers through this association. In 2003, it was reported that Mike requested his followers to donate money which will eventually be used to help the needy people.
However, the amount collected was not spent where it was promised to be rather it was spent by Mike himself and only a small amount was distributed among the poor. After several years of preaching, Mike was approached by various TV channels including BRT, INSP, WORD, and CBN and he started his weekly preaching programs.
