Early Life of Stan Lee

Born to Celia and Jack Lieber, Stan Lee was born on 28 December 1922 in Manhattan, New York. Having only one sibling, Larry Lieber, Stan Lee was the eldest in his family. His parents were Jewish, but in an interview Stan Lee showed no Knowledge about God’s existence and his belief in God. During his school life, Stan Lee did various small jobs.

In his high school he won ‘The Biggest News of the Week Contest’ consecutively for 3 weeks. This was time when he was advised to write on a professional level. After his graduation, he became a part of the WPA Federal Theatre Project in 1939.

In 1947, he married Joan Clayton Boocock. The couple had a daughter Joan Celia in 1950. In 1953, they were blessed with a daughter again who died soon after her birth. Stan Lee died in November 2018 due to cardiac arrest.

Career

Stan Lee started working at a very early age because of the financial crisis his family was facing. Initially, he did ordinary jobs to fulfil his needs but in 1939, he started working at the Timely Comics. There he worked as an office assistant who later became the editor in 1940s. He also started writing comic books while working at the Timely Comics, Lee gave many comic-book series in 1940s and 1950s.

Jack Frost, Black Marvel, and The Destroyer are some of his book series that he created. In 1961, Stan Lee created The Fantastic Four with Jack Kirby. This series was a big hit and Stan Lee made his place in the comic industry after this. In 1962, Spider-Man came by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. In 1963, Lee added another successful series, The X-Men, to his work.

Lee continued working with Marvel Comics, giving famous comic-book series and in 1972, he became the editor and publisher of the Marvel Comics. Spending almost 60 years with Marvel Comic, Lee established Stan Lee Media in 1999. His first project, 7Th Portal, was a success.
