Iggy Azalea (real name Amethyst Amelia Kelly) is an Australian singer and rapper. She was born on 7 June 1990 in Sydney and was raised in Mullumbimby. Her mother was a maid while her father was a comic artist. She started rapping when she was 14 and at the age of 16, she decided that she would continue singing as a profession. She also left her studies to pursue her career and shifted to the US where she first lived in Florida but later shifted to Houston, Texas.
It was that time when she decided to change her name from Amethyst to Iggy Azalea. Her first project was a mixtape Ignorant Art released in 2011. She faced criticism but that did not let her down and her efforts continued and soon, she released her debut album The New Classic which included the singles 100, Black Widow, Bounce, and Change Your Life. In 2019, she released her second album In My Defense which had singles Clap Back, Big Bag, and Freak of the Week.
