Ric Flair (full name Richard Morgan Fliehr) was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on February 25, 1949. His birth father is Luther and Mother Olive Philips.
However, he was adopted by Richard and Kathleen from a children’s home society in Tennessee. Both named them Richard Morgan Fliehr. Morgan’s adoptive father was a physician. Whereas, his mother was an actress.
For his education, he moved with his new family to Minnesota and studied in Wayland Academy. Throughout his school life, he was very active in sports and interested in wrestling, football, and track.
He starts his non-professional career in wrestling before enrolling with any university. In the University of Minnesota, he got a scholarship. However, he completes only a new year of college and dropped out studies.
Morgan got a chance to be in Olympics Weightlifter when he was working as a bouncer. Ken Patera introduce Morgan in the world of wrestling and promote him into American Wrestling Association. Later, Ric Flair registered as a member of the training class.

Ric Flair joined the Gagne wrestling camp in 1971. This camp was set outside Minneapolis at Gagne’ barn.
He got training along with Greg Gagne (son of Gagne), Ken Patera, and The Iron Sheik.
Meanwhile, he took “Ric Flair” as his stage name. His first ever match was held in December 1972 against George “Scrap Iron” in Rice Lake. Within 10 minutes, the game draw.
